With two new products set to launch, Ebony & Ivory Co was looking for photos of their newest candles and perfumes that had an elevated, luxury feel. As a Lethbridge luxury product photographer I was happy to help.

Planning a luxury product shoot

Brianne had a mood board for us to work with, which communicated the feel she wanted – darker and moodier and it was so fun to bring it to life! She needed a variety of orientations and crops for these images so she could use them for social media, and on her website. With this info in mind, we planned out her photoshoot in a high-end home with high-end props and used lighting to give the images a moody, upscale feel. We even used Brianne herself! She posed, and also used just her hands. Hands as a prop are one of my favorite things to use.

A slight change

The spray shot pushed me with lighting to figure out how to illuminate the mist coming from the perfume bottle (which PS smells amazing!). I’m so happy with how it turned out. I am often shooting lighter, brighter images and so this darker, moodier feel was such a fun challenge and change.

We incorporated luxurious fabrics like the gold satin to give the images a high-end feel. Brianne knows what she’s doing with her packaging and her branding so that was amazing to work with, too. Watching her business grow over the last few years has been incredible. One of the best parts of my job is getting to know and be around women who are growing businesses and they inspire me!
