I LOVED February’s headshot event. When I decided to become a Lethbridge brand photographer, I had no idea how many amazing people I would get to meet! I think I’m going to call this event “Mini Brand Sessions” next time because that’s really what these turned out to be! I loved meeting each woman and the one man who came. They are all inspiring and just doing their thing so well. I encouraged everyone to bring any props that might tell a story for them, and they all got my questionnaire to give me an idea of what their brand was about and what types of photos they needed. There were 3 options for session length so not everyone had the same amount of photos! Here are a few of the photos we made!

 

Sarah Dowsley: Author

Sarah is an author of children’s books! She runs a day home which has given her inspiration to help answer children’s questions about tough subjects through stories and pictures. I actually met Sarah through my SIL years ago, and even got to shoot one of her friends’ weddings! She is so kind and so passionate about teaching children.

 

 

Tarilyn Winberg: Life Coach

Tarilyn is a mother of four, like me, but she has the opposite in children – four boys instead of four girls! She is passionate about helping women develop their confidence and improve their mindset to help them enjoy life!

 

Laurie McIntosh: Teacher and Author

I met Laurie for the first time when we met at this Ashcroft showhome to take her photos! She recently got a book contract and brought it with her to get photos of her officially signing it. That was a pretty cool moment for me. She is an amazing, passionate kindergarten teacher and I had seen shoutouts to her on IG before we met – she has also been posting weekly plans on her blog for kindergarten learning at home!

 

Esther Remington (Petal + Palm): Plant lady!

Esther loves plants. And I think plants love Esther. She launched her business about a year ago in Lethbridge, and she is passionate about what she does! I love watching her IG account for tips and tricks and all of the cool plants she brings in.

 

 

Kylie Orr (Sugar Cookie Factory): Baker

Kylie is a mom of 2 boys and along with running the Sugar Cookie Factory, works inside the Cancer Centre at the hospital. Her sugar cookie kits were a big hit at my house! We’ve had them for  Valentine’s Day and Christmas! No mess for me and the kids still get all the fun of decorating cookies!

 

 

Crystal Haitsma: Life Coach

This girl is so driven. She recently started her coaching business and she is moving full steam ahead to help “𝚘𝚟𝚎𝚛𝚠𝚑𝚎𝚕𝚖𝚎𝚍 𝚖𝚊𝚖𝚊𝚜 𝚏𝚎𝚎𝚕 𝚊𝚖𝚊𝚣𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚊𝚋𝚘𝚞𝚝 𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚒𝚛 𝚖𝚘𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚑𝚘𝚘𝚍 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚖𝚜𝚎𝚕𝚟𝚎𝚜!” I love seeing all of the things she is rolling out and watching her grow her business!

 

Tracy Wiebe (Love and be Loved Photo): Wedding Photographer (and her team!)

Tracy and I have been DMing on IG for what seems like a long time, and this was the first time we actually met in person! She is just as sweet in real life, and so is her team. I love watching their wedding work on IG – it is so consistent and beautiful and real! We used a Pinterest board to communicate the feel and ideas she had so we could capture just what she wanted on camera. As a photographer, it’s always a little nerve-wracking to shoot another photographer, because we’re a picky bunch! 😉 Tracy was a dream to work with.

 

I am loving brand photography and I can’t wait to do more of these events for small business owners!
